What clients come to us with

A consultation is most useful before the deal is made: it is easier to correct the terms at that stage than after shipment. Typical questions:

  • how to choose the delivery method and route
  • which Incoterms delivery terms to write into the contract
  • which documents are needed for the goods
  • how to determine the HS (TN VED) code and what customs duties and taxes depend on
  • whether the goods need certificates or declarations of conformity
  • what to consider in a contract with a foreign supplier from a logistics point of view

How a consultation works

You describe the task: the goods, the supplier’s country, the volume and the desired timing. We go through the situation and explain what the options are and how they differ.

You can ask your question by phone or in writing; it is convenient to attach the deal documents to an email.

If the answer requires a calculation of the cost and transit time of the shipment, we prepare it within 1–2 days. The format and terms of the consultation are discussed individually.

Who it is for

For those planning a first shipment from abroad. For those changing supplier, country or route. For those who want to check an arrangement already in place and see where the risks and unnecessary costs are.

A consultation helps you assess a shipment before the contract is signed and payment is made.

What next

After the consultation you can organise the shipment yourself or hand it over to us, either as a one-off or under foreign trade outsourcing.

Related services: customs clearance and financial logistics. The addresses of the offices in Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Istanbul are on the contacts page.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a foreign trade consultation cost?

The terms depend on the question and are discussed individually. Call or write to us and we will tell you what is needed to answer it. We prepare a calculation of the cost and transit time of a shipment within 1–2 days.

Can I get advice before signing a contract with a supplier?

Yes, and that is the best time: delivery terms, documents and route are easier to agree before the contract is signed than to change afterwards.

Will you help determine the HS (TN VED) code?

We will help with classification. For this we need the exact name of the goods, their composition and purpose.

Which Incoterms should I choose?

It depends on how much of the transport, costs and risk you are prepared to take on and how much you leave to the supplier. We will explain the difference between the options using your own shipment as an example.

What information should I prepare for the consultation?

A description of the goods with the exact name, the supplier’s country and city, the approximate weight and volume of the consignment, and the desired timing. If you have a draft contract or invoice, please send those too.

Do I have to order transport from you afterwards?

No. After the consultation you decide for yourself whether to organise the shipment on your own or hand it over to us.

How can I contact you?

By phone on +7 (812) 709-48-49 or by email at info@logistic.today. The company’s offices are in Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Istanbul; the addresses are on the contacts page.
