In brief: US Customs and Border Protection has finalized a 90-day delay, pushing from October 22, 2026 to January 20, 2027 the deadline for international mail shipments carrying Section 201, 232 or 301 duties, or subject to review by another government agency, to move to its new electronic Entry Type 13 process.
Under CBP’s June 2026 rule suspending the duty-free de minimis treatment for mail, such shipments were due to lose access to the simplified monthly postal entry process and require either formal entry or the new ACE-based Entry Type 13 filing starting this week. CBP’s final rule, issued October 21, keeps the existing postal entry process available until January 20, 2027, and separately lets filers use Entry Type 13 for shipments needing other-agency data even without complete electronic submissions, while that capability is built out.
For EU, UK and Turkish exporters and marketplaces shipping low-value goods to US consumers by post, this removes an immediate filing-system deadline this week, but the underlying shift toward mandatory electronic entry and the end of de minimis for mail is still coming and should be prepared for.
