Lufthansa Cargo Makes Istanbul, Larnaca, Stavanger Freighter Routes Permanent

In brief: Lufthansa Cargo has confirmed its winter 2026/2027 flight schedule, making permanent several freighter routes within Europe while expanding capacity toward Asia-Pacific.

Effective 25 October, the carrier is locking in Boeing 777F freighter rotations from Frankfurt to Istanbul, Larnaca (Cyprus) and Stavanger (Norway), previously served on a less certain basis, with up to three weekly frequencies across these European routes. On the long-haul side, Lufthansa Cargo will operate up to 46 weekly freighter rotations to 17 Asia-Pacific destinations this winter. The additions sit within a worldwide freighter network that now spans 88 routes to 40 destinations.

For shippers and forwarders in Türkiye, Cyprus and Norway, permanent wide-body freighter service improves scheduling reliability for time-sensitive and high-value cargo compared with routes that previously ran on an ad hoc basis. The parallel build-out of Asia-Pacific frequencies also gives European exporters more consistent capacity options into that region heading into the winter peak season.
